Crackdown On Pakistani Spy: 12 Arrested So Far Including YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra

In a sweeping multi-state operation involving Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh police, at least 12 individuals have been arrested over the past two weeks for their alleged involvement in espionage activities linked to Pakistan’s intelligence operatives. Among those held are a YouTuber from Haryana, a local quack, and even a post-graduate student.

A Network That Spanned Borders and Backgrounds

Leading the list is Jyoti Malhotra, a Haryana-based social media influencer who reportedly came in contact with Pakistani official Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish while seeking a visa at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. Authorities allege that she made multiple trips to Pakistan and one to China, during which she was cultivated as an “asset.” Her digital footprint and financial records are now under close scrutiny.

Another woman, Guzala from Punjab, is accused of passing sensitive details about Indian Army activities to the same Pakistani official. She allegedly received money in two UPI transfers amounting to ₹30,000.

In Uttar Pradesh, Shahzad from Rampur was nabbed by Moradabad STF for his role in smuggling and for sharing classified details with handlers across the border.

From Punjab’s Ajnala, Falaksher Masih and Suraj Masih are believed to have transmitted images and information about army bases, BSF camps, and airfields to the ISI. Similarly, Yameen Mohammad from Malerkotla was caught receiving funds from Pakistan in exchange for military intelligence.

The arrests also include Sukhpreet Singh and Karanbir Singh from Gurdaspur, who were reportedly involved in surveillance during Operation Sindoor. Mobile devices and live cartridges were recovered from them.

In Haryana, Nauman Ilahi from Panipat, a factory security guard, and Devender Singh from Kaithal, a student, were both held for sharing photos and military details, with Singh reportedly using social media to connect with foreign agents.

Also from Haryana’s Nuh district, Armaan and Mohammad Tarif allegedly maintained long-standing communication with Pakistani officials. Tarif, investigators claim, even provided a SIM card to Pakistani High Commission staffers in Delhi.

Authorities believe these arrests are connected to the recent Pahalgam terror attack and form part of Pakistan’s broader tactic of recruiting individuals from various walks of life to push hostile narratives and gather intelligence.

As the investigation continues, digital evidence, bank transfers, and communication trails are being examined to establish the full extent of the network and its objectives.
